About

Until about 2 years ago when I retiredI had my own photographic studio and specialised in portraits (people and pets) and weddings. Since then we have spent our summers on our narrowbaot travelling the canals and rivers of England and Wales.

I have always loved photography and could not stop just because I retired but wanted to ring the changes so decided to forego digital and move back to film. (I've given the reasons here)

If you have never spent time on a narrowboat its difficult to comprehend the sense of timelessness you get gliding along at less than 4 miles an hour watching the world go by.

There are many many different subjects to photograph whilst travelling but I have tended to concentrate on the landscapes and structures of the canal. They can be the two extremes, beautiful countryside miles from anywhere or derelict buildings in the rundown urban areas of some of our cities and towns
